If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to complete a Travel Health Questionnaire Form.  This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting, type of accommodation, lenght of stay etc to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to complete this questionnaire as early as possible  - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as you will then need to book an appointment with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations.  These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.  Your appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Most travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.  This is because travel vaccination is not included in the services provided by the NHS and therefore is a chargeable service.

The Travel Health Questionnaire Form can be collected from the Surgery Reception or can be emailed to you if you contact the main surgery number.

Test Results

We have a PCT provided phlebotomist available to take blood at the surgery on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Alternatively there are clinics held at Colchester General Hospital, Essex County Hospital and the ‘Walk-in Centre’ in Turner Road, Colchester.

If the Doctor gives you a blood test form, this must be presented at your blood test appointment.

Please telephone the surgery to check on laboratory test results any day between 10am and 5pm. Results of routine blood tests normally take about 3 working days to come back.
